The world doesn’t reveal its best moments to those in a hurry
Photography has shaped the way I see the world for more than twenty years. What began with a Canon AE-1 film camera has grown into a lifelong pursuit of light, atmosphere and those fleeting moments that so often pass unnoticed.
For much of my career I have photographed people and some of the most important days of their lives. I still love telling those stories. But JTP Prints is something different. It takes me back to the kind of photography that made me fall in love with the craft in the first place.
Here, there are no timelines to follow or moments to anticipate. Instead, I find myself standing on windswept hills before sunrise, walking unfamiliar streets while a city still sleeps, or waiting beside a quiet lake for the light to reveal something extraordinary. More often than not, nothing happens.
Every so often, though, everything comes together for just a few fleeting seconds.
Those are the moments I spend my time searching for.

Early mornings.

A quiet belief that waiting just a little longer can make all the difference.
I don’t chase locations.
I chase light, atmosphere and the feeling a place leaves behind.
To me, a photograph isn’t finished when the shutter is pressed. It’s finished when it becomes something you can hold, live with and return to every day.
A photograph deserves more than a fleeting moment on a screen. It deserves to exist as an object, something that gathers memories, changes with the light in your home and quietly becomes part of everyday life.
Every print is produced by me in my South West England studio using museum quality Hahnemühle fine art papers and archival pigment inks. Each one is carefully inspected before it leaves the studio, ensuring the finished piece reflects the care that went into creating it.
My hope is that these photographs become more than decoration. That they slow you down for a moment, remind you of somewhere you’ve been, or simply bring a sense of peace to the room they’re displayed in.
If they encourage you to pause, look a little longer and appreciate the beauty that’s often hiding in plain sight, then they’ve done exactly what I hoped they would.
